Starting my traineeship PRAXIS4 at EMS Babelsberg
Practice will show…
If you want to be a journalist in Germany, you are. It’s as easy as that. The term “journalist” is not protected.
Anyone can be a journalist (even we, ha! ;)).
If you want to be a good and / or successful journalist however, there’s hardly a way around …
… a good education! Ok, you might have guessed so much. But over the next 18 months, I will give you a bunch of reasons that will really convince you!
On October 1st, I started a traineeship (Volontariat) at the Electronic Media School Babelsberg near Berlin. The program is called “Praxis4” since it will cover not only four different media (print, radio, tv, online), but also takes me to four different desks, right in the practice! Along with 5 other ambitious young journalists, I will learn the ABC of journalism. And we will put a focus on consumers and economy!
In between our desk work, we will have seminars, courses and training.
You want to learn to be a great journalist as well?
If you can’t attend this kind of training (yet) or want to refresh your memory on some basics of journalism, you are in the right place!
In the category “best practice, practice, practice“, I will try to share with you as many “best practices” from the classes and offices as I can.
For now, you can check out the program’s website at http://www.praxis4.de
Also, check out the group on Twitter. More tweets are to come in the following weeks :).
